提示要把 user.properties 文件修改一下。
C:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\freemind\

an amazing animated, pixel-based 'conversion' (or is it 'visualization'?) of a huge 'core dump' file containing computer memory data. the interesting aspect is that 'Data Diaries' is based on simply parsing the data file through normal Quicktime video software, 'fooling' Quicktime into thinking it actually is a video file
"Then press play. Your computer's memory is now video art. Quicktime plays right through, not knowing that the squiggles and shards on the screen are actually the bits and bytes of the computer's own brain. The data was always right in front of your nose. Now you can watch it."
conversion versus visualization: what do visual patterns mean?

a huge-size visualization of the human genetic code as thousands of pixels per chromosone. a color was assigned to every of the four bases (i.e. A, C, G, T) , which was rendered as pictures, as a "mix between science, art & curiosity". the projects's aim is to reach newbies & interested people, as the visualization is "not always absolutely correct from a scientists's point of view". interestingly enough, "you can see crazy structures and strange patterns in the images, best viewed when shutting your eyes just a little bit."
the visual structures depend on the chosen image width, but it seems that the structures occur on most sizes.
an interesting discussion on Slashdot focuses on the validity of the visualization technique: do the patterns have scientific value or is this art?
